Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Satellite communications faces a critical problem in its business although it has been promoting various novel theories and technigues and transferred to commercial terristrial communications. This invited talk will introduce two latest core communication technologies; Software defined or reconfigurable radio(SDR) and Ultra Wide-Band (UWB) wireless communications based on impulse radio. UWB. Its reason is that SDR can change configuration of on-board communication systems in a satellite in order to serve multiple applications and remotely sense system status, repair and maintain the on-board equipments. UWB can make quite feasible for short range and ultra high-speed over lOOMb/s wireless communications but it might be worried that UWB impulse radio signals tends to interfere co-existing or band-sharing other radio systems including satellite communications and radio astronomy. I hope that this invited talk will stimulate much active discussion on SDR, UWB and its related issues in satellite communication society.
