Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, the throughput of automatic repeat request (ARQ) is studied for space-time transmission systems, which multiplex co-channel signals by using multiple transmitters. In mobile and wireless communications, hybrid-ARQ using both forward error correcting code and ARQ is well-known as an efficient error control scheme. Hybrid-ARQ based on trellis-coded modulation (TCM), which combines convolutional code and modulation scheme, is considered in this paper. In ARQ, the method periodically changing modulation schemes, error correcting codes and interleaving tables for retransmissions offers good performance. This paper shows that through the use of changing transmitters for retransmissions the throughput is also improved especially at low E_b/N_O and high Rician factor conditions.
