Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We investigated influence of magnetic cluster size and its fluctuation on medium noise. A model based on cylindrical magnetic cluster was used to simulate irregular transition lines. The average size and its deviation of magnetic cluster for some media were estimated by fitting the results of simulation to measured amplitude loss and media noise. The saturation tendency of medium noise against linear density was also shown as well. It was predicted that reduction of magnetic cluster size fluctuation effectively reduced medium noise and transition jitter.
