| 抄録(和) | 光増幅器EDFA(Erbium-Doped-Fiber-Amplifier)を用いる光波長多重通信システムでは,光入力パワーの変化等により異なるチャンネル間に生じる利得偏差を補償する可変損失傾斜補償器が必要である.本稿ではエタロン共振器(ファブリ・ペロー共振器)を二つ組み合わせてそれらの反射鏡間隔をΔL増減させ,光信号の波長帯域の中央部付近を中心にして損失傾斜を正負両方向に変化させる補償器について述べる.この方式は,構造が簡単で製作容易,偏波無依存,低挿入損失,低電圧で正負大きな範囲の損失傾斜を制御できるなどの優れた特徴を有する. |
| 抄録(英) | WDM optical fiber communication systems using EDFA amplifiers require variable gain equalizers, which compensate time varying optical signal level variations among the channels in the band, caused by optical input signal intensity changes. This paper presents a new optical gain equalizer consisting of two etalon resonators. It is capable of controlling the gain slope in the ± directions at the band center, by changing the etalon gaps by ±ΔL simultaneously. The structure of the equalizer is simple, easily constructed and polarization independent. Sufficient gain slope changes by low driving voltages are obtained with low insertion loss. |
