Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) C_<60> is available for a functional molecule because of its high symmetry, though its diameter is about 0.7nm. C_<60> molecules make strong bonds with metals strongly rather than C_<60>. From the characteristics the possibility of realization of nanoscale devices by a bottom-up method can be found out. In this work, we used three kinds of substrates, and tried to prepare one dimensional Au layer using diffusion barriers by steps of single crystal substrates. Then we tried to prepare C_<60> monolayer on the specific substrate. As the results, we prepared quasi one dimensional alignments of Au along to the steps of substrates and the characteristic structures of C_<60> monolayers that remain on Au layers.
