Abstract(in Japanese) | (See Japanese page) |
Abstract(in English) | Various programming languages provide application programmer's interfaces (API) for accessing databases. Traditional APIs, however, require the developers to explicitly include Structured Query Language (SQL) statements as string literals within the source code of the host programming language. For example, Java Database Connectivity, a database access methodology of Java, requires Java programmers to embed SQL statements as string literals in the Java code. While accomplishing the integration of database access capability, the mixture of two different languages causes several difficulties, such as SQL learning cost and inconsistency. To solve these issues, we propose a programming paradigm that will let Java database application programmers concentrate solely on Java throughout the development phases, without having to write a single SQL command. |
