Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The World Wide Web (WWW) has become one of the most important media in our society. Its characteristics include distributed management, dynamic updates, and links. The characteristics are not only making the WWW a useful tool, but also making it difficult to manage the integrity of its contents. This paper proposes a method that applies to the WWW's context the concept of integrity constraints, which is common in database contexts. We focus on the problem of managing the integrity of WWW links. The features of our proposed method are as follows: (1) The method is a natural extension of the ordinary Web architecture. (2) It provides a simple and expressive constraint description language.
