Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The underwater imaging sonar system with an acoustic lens is again receiving considerable attention since it dose not require a complex signal processing equipment for beam forming. The lens system used in this type of sonar was designed by the ray theory or by a hybrid method of the ray and wave theories. Recently, the numerical analysis result of acoustic lens system using the parabolic equation method was also reported. In this report, the sound fields focused by underwater acoustic lens of various shapes are analyzed using Finite Difference Time Domain (FDTD) method. The focal region of the sound pressure field generated by spherical, aspheric and Fresnel lens are compared.
