Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have researched the focusing property of time reversal waves through tank experiments and simulations. In this paper, the study on long horizontal acoustic communication using time reversal, particularly the communication from array to a point, is described. The simulations of the horizontal communication are carried out using PE method to calculate acoustic propagation and the advantageous effect of time reversal on the communication accuracy or the effects of ambient noise, sound velocity profiles and the depth of the focus are investigated. It is revealed that time reversal makes it possible to assure the communication channel even in the environment where it is impossible by the conventional method and that time reversal communication is not disrupted by ambient noise, sound velocity profile and the depth of the focus.
