Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this report, we propose to reconstruct from ultrasonically measured temperature distribution data thermal properties of human tissues, i.e., thermal conductivity, or thermal diffusivity. The feasibility is verified through simulations. This technique allows for diagnosis of human lesions, monitoring, planning and controlling of various thermal coagulation treatments, non-destructive evaluations of various living things, structures, substances, and materials, and monitoring of their production and growth process. Provided that data for temperature distribution and thermal sources are given, thermal conduction equations become partial differential equations for unknown distribution of thermal conductivity, and product of density and specific heat. As initial (reference) conditions, given should be thermal conductivity or product of density and specific heat. We confirmed that application of the so-called regularization method to this reconstruction allows stable reconstruction of the thermal properties.
