Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We have investigated the properties of terahertz (THz) radiation from underdoped YBa_2C_u3O_<7-d> (YBCO) thin films. The THz pulses from current-biased YBCO are radiated due to ultrafast supercurrent modulation induced by femtosecond optical illumination. It was observed that the peak amplitude of the THz pulses increases almost linearly with increasing bias current and excitation laser power in certain regions for all samples. The maximum radiation efficiency was obtained for the sample with T_c = 61.5 K. Furthermore, it was observed that the maximum frequency of the Fourier spectrum slightly shifts toward lower frequency regions with decreasing hole-doping level. We discuss the shift of the maximum frequency in relation to Josephson plasma resonance phenomenon.
