Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Single flux quantum (SFQ) logic circuits can be designed to operate at frequencies of sub-THz. We have proposed optical-to-electrical signal converter with photoconductive switches as the optical interface of SFQ circuits. In this report, the optical responses of the photoconductive switchs at lower temperature region were measured using a terahertz electromagnetic waves detection system in order to investigate the possibility for the optical interface to superconducting digital devices. We demonstrated that the amorphous(a-) Ge photoconductive switch could stably operate in observed temperature region and radiated electromagnetic pulses with about 1 ps width. At the same time, however, it appeared that the response speed of a-Ge switch with the YBCO transmission lines became slower than that of the swtch with Au transmission lines.
