Abstract(in English) | We have fabricated a waveguide-type all-NbN SIS mixer on an MgO substrate and estimated the receiver performance in the terahertz band. By establishing the lapping technology of the substrate and the mounting technology, we have succeeded in mounting the mixer chip of size 1x0.064x0.025 mm into a waveguide block. A distributed SIS transmission line resonator with the length of one wavelength centered at 870 GHz is matched with the source impedance through the quarter-wavelength impedance transformer. The receiver noise temperature of the fabricated mixer, which has the critical current density of about 3 kA/cm^2, was measured by conventional Y-factor method and was 895 K(DSB) at LO frequency of 803 GHz. |
