Normal Distribution Function Superconducting Tunnel Junction

Abstract(in English) The normal-distribution-function shaped superconducting tunnel junction (NDF-STJ) which consists of Nb/Al/AlO_x/Al/Nb has been fabricated. The current-voltage characteristics were measured at 0.4[k] using three Kinds of STJ which has the dispersion parameters of 0.25, 0.45 and 0.75. These STJ showed very low leakage current. And 5.9[keV] X-ray was irradiated into these STJ. The spectrums of STJ showed a good energy resolution with small magnetic field comparing with conventional shaped STJ, which were square and diamond.
