Preparation of Josephson Junctions by MOCVD films

Abstract(in English) With the aim of fabricating Josephson junctions with a pround plane which include NdBa_2Cu_3O_7-x(NBCO) superconducting layers and Sr_2AlTaO_6(SAT) insulating layers, we have examined the fabrication processes and properties of NBCO/NBCO interface-modified junctions on SrTiO_3(STO) substrates and NBCO thin films on SAT/YBCO bilayers. For the NBCO ramp-edge junctions fabricated by MOCVD, resistivelv-shunted-junction (RSJ) type current-voltage characteristics were observed, although they showed a large spread of characteristics. We deposited NBCO thin films on SAT/YBCO bilayers by PLD and demonstrated that their crystallinity, surface-flatness, and superconducting Tc's were comparable to those for the NBCO films on STO substrates.
