Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper analyzes and compares signal separation, convergence speed and signal distortion in both a feedforward blind source separation (BSS) and a feedback BSS. Let the observed signals and the output signals be X_i and y_i, respectively. In the feedback BSS, the transfer functions from x_i to y_i are all 1, and the feedback paths are adjusted so as to cancel the interference. Therefore, signal distortion does not occur after signal separation under some conditions. On the other hands, in the feedforward BSS, all paths from the observations to the outputs are adjusted. There exist some degree of freedom besides to achieve signal separation. This freedom causes signal distortion. In this paper, two kinds of feedforward BSSs in the frequency domain are taken into account. One of them is based on natural gradient method, and the other is an improved method, in which some constraint is removed. The feedforward BSS based on the natural gradient method causes sever signal distortion. The other two methods have almost the same performances on signal separation and convergence speed. Regarding signal distortion, the feedback BSS shows slightly good performance.
