Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper we present extensive simulation results on various Rake reception of ultra wideband (UWB) signals over IEEE 802.15.3a realistic UWB channel models using BPSK modulation. Convolving the continuous time impulse response with the transmitted pulse and adding WON, we produce the multipath profile in front of the receiver. We show that the more the pulse-width gets shorter, the more fraction of the energy comes to the receiver through isolated paths. Oppositely, the wider is the pulse, the more fraction of the energy is in overlapped path and the more is the multipath fade. We show performance of all Rake (ARake) and selective Rake (SRake) receivers by optimal delay estimation and by ordinary method. We observe wide performance variations in the two methods. We also show an optimum pulse-width for an SRake receiver for each channel model (CM1~CM3).
