Variable Coding Rate OFDM Transmission on One-Cell Reuse TDMA Systems

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes an OFDM based adaptive modulation scheme employing variable coding rates (VCR OFDM AMS) as one of the adaptive transmission techniques to be used in the dynamic parameter controlled orthogonal frequency and time division multiple access (DPC-OF/TDMA). In the proposed scheme, in order to reduce signal processing load as well as to suppress rapid fluctuation of the interference level due to fast subcarrier transmit power control (TPC) called multilevel TPC (MTPC), the proposed system prepares a large number of coding rates as the selectable modulation parameters, by which the required SINR (Signal to Interference plus Noise power Ratio) gap between adjacent modulation parameters are reduced to 1.5 - 3 dB, thereby reducing performance degradation caused by non-employment of the MTPC. Computer simulation confirms that the proposed VCR OFDM AMS gives acceptable performances as the modulation scheme for DPC-OF/TDMA.
