A Study on Expanding the Forward Link Data Rate in Single Carrier CDMA Cellular System Using Frequency Domain Equalization

Abstract(in English) This paper studies the possibility of expanding the peak forward transmission rate in the existing cellular system by MMSE FDE. In case MMSE FDE is performed keeping the backward compatibility to the existing forward link, channel estimation accuracy deteriorates because the pilot structure cannot be changed. This paper proposes the improved channel estimation method against above deterioration and evaluates the PER by the computer simulation. It is shown that the peak transmission rate can be expanded 1.5 times as large as existing one under Rician channel and the provided transmission rate under multipath channel can be lifted up to 2.4576 Mbps.
