Image enlarging method by using B-spline interpolation

Abstract(in English) It is needed to show screen image material at a high resolution for terrestrial digital broadcasting such as television, printer and digita camera. High-resolution image can be made from low-resolution image by interpolating some pixels. It is known that some image enlarging methods by extrapolating high-frequency component, however these methods are not effective in the case that frequency-bands do not correlate each other. It is proposed that the image enlarging method using Bezier-surface. In this method, it is assumed that each pixel has energy. Relation between pixel's energy is not changed during the method execution. In this paper, we propose a new method using B-spline surface, and evaluate the effective of proposed method by using PSNR.
