Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) A decision feedback type of channel estimation scheme, which updates the channel estimates at the pilot symbols succesively by using the decoded data at the data symbols, is effective for COFDM transmission under fading environment. However, an increase of Doppler frequency causes residual errors in decoded data and makes it difficult to realize the accurate channel estimation in following data symbols. To overcome this problem, this report proposes a new dual-mode channel estimation scheme for COFDM transmission under fast fading environment. In the proposed scheme, the forward and backward channel estimation is conducted by using the pilot symbols in the head and the end of the frame and the range of the channel estimation for each direction is determined according to the received power ratio of the pilot symbols in both sides of the frame. Moreover, computer simulation results show that the proposed scheme provides better BER performance comparing to the conventional forward channel estimation scheme.
