A Survey of Drivers' Behavior with Cellular Phones

Abstract(in English) Amending the Road Traffic Act forbad talking over the cellular phones during driving without using hands free car kit in 1999, and it decreased the number of traffic accident having relevance to useing cellular phones. We studied about drivers' behavior with phones and the diffusion of hands free car kit in 2002. According to our study, seventy percent of them used cellular phones without using hands free car kit, and thirty-two percent of drivers, who had hands free car kit, talked over their phones directly without using them, although they had them. It's necessary for us to educate drivers and to diffuse of hands free car kit much more to prevent traffic accidents.
