Abstract(in English) | This report addresses issues for designing an information aid system with media conversion (MC) techniques for people including disabled and elderly people. An MC technique converts information into another one with different medium. During the conversion process, some information is lost and some new information is attached to the transformed one due to particular features of medium used. In the first part of the report, we show a classification of MC techniques. We then show the functions of MC in information aid systems. In the second part, the relation is discussed between an information aid system and MC technique. We further show the roles of MC engineers, system designers, and two kind of system users : a user who receives, or accesses to information ; and a user who generates and provides information to users. Although MC has an important role in an aid system, other factors are also important for effectiveness of the aid system ; good recognition of information providers as system users ; and social and human systems for realising a good use environment of the system. |
