Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Grid Computing constructs single computing system by collecting widely distributed computing resources. Grid computing system, especially PC Grid System, using PC's computing resources, is applied to some practical systems. lt is difficult for common users to construct such a system because it is very difficult to make processing programs and to collect many PCs from the network. From this point, the authors proposes a distributed computing system called PC Pool System, where processing programs are included and processing resources of PCs are shared by each other. This paper describes the functions and the technique for dependability of the PC Pool System. This system is implemented on the Windows-based PCs and its performance is evaluated.
