Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In a wearable computing environment, data that help individual persons are collected, maintained, and utilized by a small portable computer. The portable computer should be able to actively notify the user of helpful and important information as well as to passively execute queries requested by the user. Therefore some studies argued how a highly functional DBMS can be built on a small computer. However none of the studies describes the portability problem of the DBMS, so that the DBMS can run on any computers. In this paper, we propose an active DBMS in a small storage device such as a micro-drive and flush memory. Building the DBMS in such small storage device, can solve the portability issue as long as it provides a uniform interface, because it is independent of host computers to be connected. We discuss advantages of our system and also introduce its implementation.
