Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose some distributed asynchronous TMR (Triple Modular Redundancy) algorithms. A conventional TMR system is located at a single site mainly because of need for strict synchronization. A single-site system cannot tolerate faults induced by regional incidents, such as power failures and earthquakes. Our goal is to geographically distribute the components of a TMR system over multiple sites in order to improve dependability of the system. Considering delay in message passing, an asynchronous approach is considered to be suitable for distributed TMR systems. The proposed TMR algorithms are designed in distributed asynchronous style so that they can show better performance under long message delay. We also evaluate the efficiency of the algorithms through simulations and experimental implementations.
