Abstract(in English) We have proposed a wireless internet protocol (IP) network for high-data-rate mobile Internet access using layer-2-forwarding technology. In this paper, for seamless mobility and frequent handover, we propose following two handover methods, (1) flow control method using transmission control protocol (TCP) window-size control and (2) dual receiver switching method. We evaluated TCP throughput performance of the methods with Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) 802.11b modems. Using the TCP window-size control method, packet flow was controlled without buffered packets of base stations. From the experimental results of the dual receiver switching method, degradation of TCP throughput was negligibly small. The proposed network has a potential for being used to the high-data-rate and seamless mobility mobile Internet access.
