Abstract(in English) We have developed a simulation system for prostate biopsy based on the probabilistic model of prostate which has anatomical classifications of the prostate and their probabilities of the incidence of the prostate cancer. The prostate biopsy is one of diagnosis methods for prostate cancers. It obtains tissue samples by needle biopsy. The efficient and minimally invasive biopsy method is required. In this paper, we made a comparison between above mentioned prostate model and virtual prostates constructed from resected specimen. We made virtual prostates from a hundred of resected specimens, which are slice images of prostate at intervals of 3 mm. The correlation between the virtual biopsy results of our probabilistic model and resected specimen was 0.77. The appropriateness of our probabilistic prostate mode is demonstrated.
