Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes the current development of video caption display system called VC Player, especially focuses on a new function to specify the speaker. Since 1997 our Video Caption project has developed VC Player and "VCML"(Video Caption Markup Language) based on XML. VC Player displays video and caption data at the same time and is controlled by VCML document. Using the convenient GUI functions in the previous version 2.3, VC Player can switch the language for captions and display symbols of auditory scenes. However, there is no function which distinguishes speakers when they speak at the same time. This paper shows the newest achievement of VC Player 2.4; the indication function of multiple speakers and its effectiveness based on the subjective evaluation experiment results.
