Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This study is on development of "Robotic Communication Terminals (RCT)" which supports the mobility of the elderly and the handicapped. We elaborately designed the survey concerning mobility problems for analyzing different physical characteristics and other relevant factors. The total number of respondents amounts to 3,634 (visually-impaired: 669; hearing-impaired: 1,135; walking-impaired: 866; elderly: 720; and non-handicapped: 244). It should be more emphasized that this study clarified some important points regarding the mobility problems of the duplication-handicapped. Even if it is a slight handicap, when a handicap overlaps, the problem at the time of movement would become large notably. We give attention to the point as stated above and analyze a slight single handicap and a slight duplication handicap according to two kinds of age group - the younger age group (under 65 years old) and the elder age one (not less than 65 years old). This paper describes a brief summary of our survey.
