Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In the present paper, we propose a remote braille printing system. The system is consist of (1) IBUKI-TEN for automatic braille translation, (2) WWW site for uses to drop BASE format files in and send them to remote braille printers and (3) remote printing center to print out the BASE file. We have constructed and examined the system for practical uses. This system worked well for any type of text-based documents, but was not available for documents which include graphics, designed text (color, font, size,,,), and other non text-based information. Herein we propose to pre-process the data file based on HTML conversion.
