Abstract(in English) Digital copy machines have many functions, so users operate them using a liquid crystal touch-panel. The LCD, however, is not appropriate for the visually impaired. We developed a new setting method using speech input/output, in which operations are performed using hierarchical menus and a numeric keypad. Feasibility of this method was confirmed through an evaluation experiment. In the experiment, visually impaired users practiced operating a copy machine using the new method.
