Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper describes about assistive technology in the use of PC for the deaf-blind. Although Braille display or screen reader system for blind people are proffered, screen reader system is not effective for deaf-blind people and it is difficult to utilize Braille display if they don't learn Braille. Therefore, we have developed tactile Kana display system as one of various communication methods for the deaf-blind. It displays tactile Kana pattern on the tactile display instead of using Braille or screen reader output and users feel for Kana pattern on the tactile display.
