Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In this study, we present a method of speech analysis using a combination of vocal-tract and voice-source models as a tool for investigating the characteristics of glottal source related to the voice quality. The voice source model is constructed on the basis of overlapped piecewise glottal waves. By virtue of the linearity of this voice source model, the value of the parameters included in the tract-source model can be explicitly determined for given speech signals if the timings of the glottal opening and closing are given. Therefore, our model can partly avoid complexities of nonlinear problems arose in the methods studied thus far. Experiments showed that the analysis error (SNR) of the proposed method is about 16.1[dB] for independently utterd five vowels.
