Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) It is possible to unificate braille code systems in the world by means of the Unicode, which is a common graphic character set for computers in the world. That is, worldwide common braille symbols are to be assigned on graphic characters of the Unicode used commonly in the world and unique braille symbols are defined on those employed only in specific country. As an union of these common braille code set and unique braille code set, an unified braille code can be developed for each country. Therefore, an Unified Japanese Braille Code was developed to integrate "kana" symbols of the present Japanese braille code and the Unified English Braille Code adopted in 2004.
