Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) The competitiveness of Japanese industries had reached at the top level of the world in 1980s and the value of exports had increased rapidly. "Japan as No.1(1979)", "Come back(1984)", and "Made in America(1989)" compared Japanese industrial competitiveness with U.S. competitiveness. We review those books, and think about the factors which have changed Japanese competitiveness until now. The main changing factors are technology innovations, Yen-Dollar exchange rate, globalization, shut down of bubble economy, industrialization of Asian countries, direct overseas investment, unemployment rate, industrial strategy, and so on. We make a study about those factors.
