Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) We propose Mobile Multicast Group Management Protocol (MMGP), which is a new group management protocol for mobile multicast. MMGP is mainly designed for wireless LANs and mobile communication networks; and it can reduce communications traffic even when a client moves frequently. Since MMGP also considers security issues, it can deal with multicast denial of service (DoS). We show that MMGP can achieve group management with less communications traffic compared with the Internet Group Management Protocol (IGMP) or Multicast Listener Discovery (MLD), and also argue that MMGP is suitable as the group management protocol for mobile multicast.
