Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) As wireless LAN (WLAN) has been standardized and globally disseminated, it becomes an important tool for broadband Internet access. This paper presents an interworking method between cellular and WLAN for providing seamless communication environment. We focus on the seamlessness of media and session. A prototype system is implemented to realize session continuity using mobile IP with automatic media switching function based on signal strength of WLAN. We evaluated availability and performance of the implemented software and demonstrated the effectiveness of seamless communication.
