Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) This paper introduces a new MIMO system having three orthogonal polarization diversity branches. This new system will make the antenna portion of MIMO system smarter and more compact. To make three orthogonal polarization ports on the same antenna element, a new independent port on the conventional patch antenna that uses only two orthogonal polarization ports , has been added. In multipath-rich environment all the three ports will work independently and 3 × 3 MIMO will be produced among three branches. Thus the new system will enrich the MIMO channel capacity comparing two orthogonal polarization MIMO system. This paper also shows the performance results of the new system evaluated trough an experiment under the multipath-rich environment.
