Complexity-reduced Maximum Likelihood Detection Based on Replica Candidate Selection with QR Decomposition Using Pilot-Assisted Channel Estimation and Ranking for MIMO Multiplexing Using OFCDM

Abstract(in English) This paper proposes the configuration of complexity-reduced maximum likelihood detection (MLD) based on replica-candidate selection with QR Decomposition employing pilot channel-assisted channel estimation and ranking of transmitted signals for Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing (OFCDM) MIMO multiplexing. In the proposed method, transmitted signals are ranked according to received signal-to-interference plus noise power ratio (SINR) using pilot channel every Transmission Time Interval (TTI) and channel matrix estimate is converted into upper-triangular matrix by QR decomposition, followed by successive reduction of symbol replica candidates based on M-algorithm. Simulation results show that by employing pilot channel-assisted MLD with QR decomposition in 4-by-4 MIMO multiplexing, throughput of 1 Gbps is achieved at the average received E_b/N_0 (signal energy per bit-to-noise power spectrum density ratio) of approximately 10 dB in OFCDM access with 8-code multiplexing for the spreading factor of 8 assuming a 100-MHz bandwidth.
