Abstract(in English) This paper describes a future trend of wireless communication technologies for mobile multimedia communication services. There are a lot of research and development activities for providing mobile multimedia communication services, which is capable of providing various kinds of communication services "whatever", "wherever", and "whenever". The cellular phone services are now providing communication services wherever the mobile users are. IMT-2000 and Wireless LAN (Local Area Network)-based hot spot services provide broadband wireless communication not only for voice communication but also for multimedia services including video and internet access. Furthermore, the flatrate services based on PHS (Personal Handy-phone System) are now provided by all the PHS operators. However, there is no wireless communication system providing full mobility support, broadband connection, and flat rate service at this moment. This paper it to address the technical requirement in wireless technologies for establishing the mobile multimedia communication services.
