Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) In road-to-vehicle communication system, positional relationship of surrounded vehicles changes extremely because each vehicle travels rapidly. Since the radio propagation characteristics also fluctuate fastly according to the randomness of traffic flows, shadowing caused by large-sized vehicle and deterioration of communication quality caused by multipath fading occur frequently. In particular, occurrence of shadowing leads to long-time shutdown and it is fatal for road-to-vehicle communication system that must communicate in limited time. To minimize shadowing, in this paper, we firstly evaluate the performance improvement of shadowing rate and shadowing duration by considering the power of diffraction path that diffracts at the edge of large-sized vehicle by computer simulation. Secondly, we apply adaptive modulation scheme to road-to-vehicle communication, then we reveal that the power from diffraction path is available effectively, and the performance improvement of throughput characteristics can be achieved.
