Abstract(in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
Abstract(in English) Demand for MANET which is built by autonomous distributed control at mobile stations is increasing. Although flooding is used in order to establish a route in MANET, there is a broadcast storm problem that traffic increases rapidly. Besides, there is a hidden terminal problem that packet collisions may occur in the multi-hop communications. For resolving these problems, we propose M-DSMA (MAC protocol using Dynamic State transition of Mobile stations in Ad hoc networks). We define two kinds of states (Active state and Non-active state) at mobile stations. During active state, busy-tone signal is sent as the mobile station detects that a channel is busy, besides, stop-tone signal is sent as the mobile station detects a packet collision. By using those signals, the communication quality is improved.
