Development of an Urban Landscape Image Delivery System for Mobile Phones

Abstract(in English) We developed the system that delivers the landscape panoramic images and location-based information to the mobile phones. The proposed system has the following features; (1) it can create the landscape panoramic images anywhere with the 3D CG models of a real city, (2) the landscape panoramic images and city information make the users recognize the direction to go and the building to pay attention to, (3) the mobile phones which has low processing speed and low communication speed, is able to show the urban city landscape by server-side creation of landscape images from 3D CG models. In this paper, we describe the design and the prototype of the proposed system. Furthermore we present practicability of the proposed system by the result of operation test.
