Effect of wireless LAN transfer rates on quality of VoIP

Abstract(in English) This report assesses the quality of VoIP (Voice over IP) communication over the IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN under radio interference by experiment. In this situation, we focus on the four kinds of data transfer rate of the IEEE 802.11b wireless LAN. The relationship of voice quality and SNR (Signal-to-Noise Ratio) with each data rate is examined. In the experiment, PESQ (Perceptual Evaluation of Speech Quality) value of the voice in point-to-point and one-way VoIP communication is measured. We also assume that there are no VoEP and data streams except the target stream to measure.
