A Priority Control Method for High Quality VoIP Systems over Wireless LAN

Abstract(in English) In this paper, we propose a new priority control method to keep the high quality of streaming service such as VoIP on wireless LAN. Because terminals on wireless LAN share the capacity to transmit packets, systems have to provide a framework to transmit streaming packets prior to others and to manage the amount of them. In our new method, the application servers recognize information of flows for terminals to be executed stream applications and stream category after applications on terminals negotiating to servers. In addition, access points manage transmission capacity to coordinate on the servers. We developed a prototype system with QoS function implemented in software, and confirmed its efficiency.
