Load Factor-Based Call Admission Control for WCDMA System

Abstract(in English) As WCDMA system aims to support limited multimedia, it is vital to study how to control the admission of calls with different quality of service requirements. To accomplish this, we develop a new algorithm of call admission control in which user's resource consumption with anticipation is characterized. We further study the admission thresholds in the new algorithm. Numerical results show that the new algorithm can have more users admitted, especially under heavy loads. Although this work is based on WCDMA simulator, it is easy to adopt this algorithm into B3G system in which the principal service will be multimedia and the system will face the same requirement and problem.
