Abstract(in English) In order to locate the position of victims in the mountains such as the snow avalanche, we have been developing a location system using a radio direction-finder onboard helicopter, supposing that the climbers carry with them the small radio transmitter in the VHF band. In this paper, we estimate the error-of-measurement in such a direction finding method due to the propagation effects such as the reflection, refraction and diffraction in the complex mountainous structure, and the metallic structure of helicopter with skids, by the FDTD simulation.
