Abstract(in English) | IEEE802.11 wireless LAN is widely developed and the wireless LAN based Internet access environment called hot spot has been increased in recent years. Although a hot spot provides high-speed transmission, its coverage is small. Therefore, when a mobile terminal moves around, it communicates through multiple hot spots and the states in which the terminal can communicate and in which it cannot communicate will be repeated. If the terminal performs TCP communication in such an environment, unnecessary congestion control will be invoked frequently due to the packet loss resulting from the handoff. In order to prevent this problem, some procedure is required to suspend the TCP communication quickly when the terminal goes out o the communication range, and to resume the communication promptly when it comes to be able to communicate. In this paper, we propose a scheme to realize a high performance TCP communication over handoff preventing an unnecessary congestion control. |
