Abstract(in English) | This paper investigated block error rate (BLER) and throughput performances of maximum likelihood detection (MLD) employing QR Decomposition and M-algorithm (QRM-MLD hereafter) applying the proposed adaptive selection algorithm of surviving symbol replicacandidates exploiting reliability of each symbol replica for MIMO multiplexing in OFCDM (Orthogonal Frequency and Code Division Multiplexing) wireless access. Simulation results elucidated that the loss in the required average received E_b/N_0 of the adaptive selection of surviving symbol-replica candidates in QRM-MLD from that of full MLD was suppressed within 0.5 dB irrespective of number of antenna branches, data modulation and channel coding rate assuming Turbo coding. Further, the throughput of 1 Gbps was achieved at the average received E_b/N_0 of approximately 9.5 dB for 16QAM modulation and R=8/9 in OFCDM access with 8-code multiplexing for spreading factor of 8 assuming 100-MHz bandwidth, and the computational complexity of the QRM-MLD in the case was suppressed to approximately 1/1900, 1/16, and 1.3 times that of full MLD, original QRM-MLD, and MMSE, respectively. |
